About Us

Lucan Fabrics has been distributing upholstery and curtain material since 1988.

The company formed from the closure of Hill and sons which was based in Lucan next to the bridge. Part of that factory still stands today. Hill and sons was one of the longest running mills in the country producing tweeds for clothing in the early years, then moving to spinning yarns for carpets, to manufacturing upholstery fabrics for contract applications such as bars, restaurants, offices and airplanes. Onc of the most rewarding contracts we did was to weave the fabrics to cover the whole of the Aer Lingus fleet. In those days up to 120 people worked in the factory, many of which lived in the areas such as Sarsfield park, Weir View and Millbank.

Today Lucan Fabrics are now based in Glasnevin and still supply contract and domestic materials to Upholsterers, Interior Designers and Curtain makers. We are stocking fabrics in our warehouse some of which are Irish made, while others are imported from both near and far.
